New 2017 FIAT 500c at Interstate Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram for Shreveport, LA

When you think FIAT, you should think passionate self-expression. FIAT has chosen to create cars that speak for themselves as unique characters. The crown jewel of the FIAT lineup is the FIAT 500c. The 500c is rich in heritage and boasts an Italian origin. Despite its simple design, you will never see another vehicle with quite as much personality. The 500c is much more playful than other vehicles found in the subcompact car segment. For those completely unfamiliar to the FIAT 500 lineup, the 500c is the 500 cabrio, which translates to convertible. With a convertible top, two doors, and charged with a bubbly attitude, it's hard to feel like you're going wrong with the FIAT 500c.

Under the 500c's Hood

The FIAT 500c offers two engines. The first, found in Pop and Lounge trim models, is a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is capable of generating 101 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission that has a fuel economy estimate of 34 mpg combined, 31 mpg city, and 40 mpg highway. Alternatively, a six-speed automatic transmission is available as well; that transmission delivers fuel economy at 29 mpg combined, 27 mpg city, and 33 mpg highway. In Abarth models, there's an alternative 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that comes standard with the five-speed manual. This engine has a much higher output, achieving 160 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy with this powertrain is estimated at 30 mpg combined. Alternatively, when paired with the six-speed automatic transmission, the Abarth generates 157 horsepower and 183 pound-feet of torque. Fuel economy also shifts to 27 mpg combined with the automatic.

Design of FIAT 500c

The FIAT 500c is a convertible that can seat four. It comes in three fun trim levels: Pop, Lounge, and Abarth. The Pop comes with plenty of standard features. Highlights include a 7-inch color driver information display, cruise control, heated mirrors, 15-inch alloy wheels, a tilting leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 5-inch Uconnect infotainment system, complete Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking sensors, and an Alpine audio system with six speakers. The Lounge trim is the luxurious trim, offering heated front seats, leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, foglights, and more. The Abarth is the performance-oriented trim level, adding in larger 16-inch wheels, a spoiler, upgraded brakes, a leather-wrapped shift knob, a performance exhaust system, a sport steering wheel, and a sport-tuned suspension. Regardless of trim level, every 500c features a bright, zippy appearance throughout the cabin.
