2020 Ram 1500 vs Silveradro 1500
The process of searching for a new truck can be difficult and challenging, especially if you aren’t fully aware of all of the options out there. We are here today to help break down the top models so you have a better idea of which model might be best suited for your needs. The two trucks we are focusing on include the 2020 Ram 1500 and the 2020 Chevy Silveradro 1500. When it comes to the Ram 1500, you’ll find a new wheel design for the Longhorn trim, a great engine lineup, available class-exclusive air suspension, and a great Uconnect infotainment system. The Silverado 1500 comes with a long list of engines, available adaptive cruise control, and expanded towing technologies. Keep reading for a better look at how these trucks compare.
2020 Ram 1500 Power & Handling
When you start looking for a new truck, the first thing you are going to be checking for is what kind of engines are available. That is why we’re pleased to show you the three great engine options available with the 2020 Ram 1500. We are going to start off with the newest addition to the lineup, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, which outputs up to 480 pound-feet of torque. Next up is the base engine, a 3.6-liter V6, which creates 269 pound-feet of torque. The final engine available is a 5.7-liter V8, which can get up to 410 pound-feet of torque. Throughout, you’ll get an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the option between both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations.
2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Power & Handling
Chevy works hard to give you many engines to choose from, and while it succeeds in the number of options, we aren’t as impressed with the reliability of these engines. Throughout the available engines, you’ll find a 6-speed, 8-speed, and 10-speed automatic transmission. The engines themselves include a 4.3-liter V6, a 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, a 5.3-liter V8, a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-4, and a 6.2-liter V8. You’ll be able to choose rear-wheel drive, along with all-wheel drive. While this isn’t the worst lineup, we’re still preferring what the Ram 1500 offers.
2020 Ram 1500 Features & Design
Even after you experience the great engine options, it’s important to not forget that Ram also has a great number of trims that you can choose from. These trims come with a long list of standard and available features, which means you can never go wrong. Standard features include a rearview camera, a 5-inch touchscreen, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and keyless entry. Other available features include chrome bumpers, fog lights, a fully dampened tailgate, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 20-inch aluminum wheels, remote start, front and rear parking sensors, and blind-spot monitoring.
2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 Features & Design
The trim lineup for the Silverado 1500 isn’t as well-equipped as what the Ram 1500 has to offer. Standard features include 17-inch steel wheels, Android Auto, and a tilt-only steering column. Other features that you’ll find with this truck include cruise control, front tow hooks, remote start, a few package options, a powered tailgate, off-road package, leather upholstery, heated front seats, 20-inch chromed alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, and bed lighting.
As you can already tell, the 2020 Ram 1500 is a pickup truck for the ages. From the great three available engines to the well-equipped trim lineup, there is something for everyone.
